My WWW Sites

By Wednesday, April 06, 2005 This site was the first and as the URL indicates it was offered as part of the services of F2S, my ISP of the time. I chose F2S because it was 'free'; they still provide free access to the Internet which may be useful if I return to the UK. Very soon I found Joel Spolky's CityDesk and started to build my first web site. The 'free' access to the Internet soon became too expensive (!) and I purchased the F2S Anytime product that dovetailed with BT's new tariff. This site contains links to most of my digital photographs. These were originally taken with normal film and scanned, but are now mostly taken with a digital camera. On starting my company in the UK called Zenit Ltd, I found an alternative supplier for disk space and server power called eUKhost. This appeared at the time to provide more interesting options with regards to PHP and to MySQL than F2S and was also cheaper. So the Zenit Services site was launched as a web based business card. Zenit Ltd provides information and communication services to the pharmaceutical industry. I started writing descriptions of software and software services on this site. As Zenit Services, I created my first public site for a restaurant - Les Panses. This was hosted at F2S because I felt at the time that F2S was more reliable than eUKhost. The longer story of Les Panses was that the domain was first registered with Terra (a Spanish ISP) who were expecting people to run web sites from their own home PCs via ASDL. To purchase server disk space was very expensive and I spent at least 2 months trying to move the domain to F2S. Once established in Spain I formed a new company called Accent Business Communication whose purpose is to help the companies in the Costa del Azahar region of Spain (from Castellon to Valencia) to communicate in English. Again, this is a site that acts as a business card, but also illustrates how CityDesk creates a dual language web site. On this site I have a series of articles about English, all drawn from my personal experience of talking with and teaching Spanish people. As Accent Business I created a second public site for a second restaurant - Palau del Duc. This is a very young site but will soon be developed with new material.

When I first started creating this web site, I thought that there would be only the one. Now, several years later, I have several web sites, all dedicated to different purposes. here is a collection of the most important of these.
